Fiery October 2010, Peasant protests on the First 100 Days of Noynoy Aquino as President and the Protest on the Anniversary of PD 27, the sham land reform program of the Marcos Dictatorship.

Thousands of Filipino peasants protested and demanded Genuine Land Reform from the Aquino government who promised change during his electoral campaign. Filipino peasants under the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP, Peasant Movement of the Philippines) held a vigil at Mendiola and long marches to call for the junking of the Republic Act 9700 or Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with 'Reforms' (CARPer) and the passage of House Bill 374 or Genuine Agrarian Reform Bill (GARB), distribution of lands to farmers, justice to victims of human rights violations and stop to militarization of the countryside.
