The Katipunan ng mga samahang Magbubukid sa Timog Katagalugan (KASAMA-TK) is a regional federation of peasant organizations in the Southern Tagalog Region. Established in 1985 by provincial peasant leaders and peasant advocates, the KASAMA-TK owes its formation from a long and rich organizing experience of the peasantry in the provinces of Quezon, Batangas, Laguna, and Cavite from the late 70’s until the fall of Marcos dictatorship.

It owes its establishment from the thousands of courageous peasant leaders that perished in their centuries old struggle for genuine agrarian reform from the colonial Spanish rule until the dark years of Martial Law under the Marcos dictatorship.

Determined to advance the cause and democratic interest of the peasantry, peasant leaders and advocates worked for the establishment of a strong and broad regional peasant federation. The existence of four (4) provincial peasant organizations namely KARIT in Quezon, Kilusang Magbubukid sa Laguna, Samahang Magbubukid sa Batangas (SAMBAT) and Katipunan ng mga Magsasaka sa Banahaw (KMB) paved way for the formation of KASAMA-TK in 1985. KASAMA-TK became the official regional chapter of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) or Peasant Movement of the Philippines – a democratic and militant movement of landless peasants founded in July 1985. KMP has effective leadership of more than two (2) million rural people with sixty five (65) provincial and fifteen (15) regional chapters nationwide.

KASAMA-TK also became a member organization of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) or New Patriotic Alliance in Southern Tagalog. From hereon, a strong patriotic peasant movement has continuously advanced the struggle for the cause and democratic interest of the peasantry in the region and the country in general.
